Diversity and Equity Officer (m/w/d, TV-L E13, 50%)
The Cluster of Excellence "Machine Learning – New Perspectives for Science" at the University of Tübingen is looking for a Diversity and Equity Officer
The University of Tübingen aims to strengthen equity and diversity in research within the central office of the Cluster of Excellence, with a particular focus on enhancing our internationalization strategy and recruiting staff from non-academic backgrounds (“first-generation academics”).
Tasks
- Coordinating a joint scholarship program with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS).
- Integrating a research group in Kigali, Rwanda, into the Machine Learning Cluster of Excellence.
- Developing and supporting a program to promote and recruit scientists coming from non-academic backgrounds.
- Implementation of gender equality measures at all career levels in the Cluster of Excellence (e.g., support for “Tübingen Women in Machine Learning”).
- Networking with the relevant university bodies (Central Administration, Team Equity, Welcome Center, Diversity Representatives of the Cluster of Excellence and other research institutions, etc.).
- Organization of workshops and events.
Requirements

You have successfully completed a university degree at post-graduate level (master's or diploma).

Previous work experiences in organizing diversity measures and in project management of scientific collaborative research projects will be advantageous.

Very strong command of both English and German, in speaking and writing.

You are a person with intercultural competence, and you enjoy engaging with international people.

You are highly flexible, diligent, and reliable, and should have a talent for organization.
