Das Max-Planck-Institut für Intelligente Systeme sucht eine:n Biomedizintechniker:in für die Abteilung Haptische Intelligenz. Unter der Leitung von Katherine J. Kuchenbecker zielt die Abteilung Haptische Intelligenz des MPI-IS darauf ab, unser Verständnis für Berührungsreize zu verbessern und zu formalisieren und gleichzeitig neue Möglichkeiten für deren Einsatz in Interaktionen zwischen Menschen, Computern und Maschinen zu entdecken.

In this context, we are seeking a biomedical engineer for a temporary project.
Responsibilities will include:
- Experimental data acquisition
- Data analysis and visualization
- Design of machine learning algorithms
- Participant recruitment
- Experiment design
- Data collection
- Survey design and analysis
- Engineering tasks, e.g., sensor integration
Your profile
- A bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering
- Good programming skills in Python
- Very good knowledge in computer science
- Good knowledge of assistive technology
- Experience in conducting user studies with people with disabilities
- Good scientific background and the ability to understand researchers’ goals
- Team-player attitude
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Our offer
The position will be located in the Stuttgart site of our institute as part of the Haptic Intelligence Department.
Salaries and contract will be based on qualifications and previous professional experience according to the Public Service Wage Agreement (TVöD Bund) guidelines. The position is limited to 1 year.
