The "Hertie Institute for AI in Brain Health" (Hertie AI) at the Faculty of Medicine of the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen is looking for a postdoctoral research fellow (f/m/d; 100%) to join them. The position is limited for 2 years, with a prospect of extension.
Potential research directions include
- Uncovering generative and causal mechanisms in neural recordings to identify novel biomarker
- Advancing interpretability in AI models that infer dynamical systems from time series data
- Developing multi-modal control-theoretic AI approaches for causal intervention
Your profile
- Motivated and intellectually curious scientist with a strong background in machine learning, ideally with expertise in control theory, optimal control or reinforcement learning (RL)
- Candidates should either have experience working with neuroscientific recordings (e.g., electrophysiology, fMRI) or demonstrate a genuine interest and openness to engaging with such data.
- Applicants should be enthusiastic about working with diverse data modalities and driven by a desire to integrate these modalities to advance diagnostics and treatments in neurology and psychiatry.
Hertie AI values individuals who thrive in interdisciplinary environments and are passionate about impactful research at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare.
Benefits
- Exciting and supportive environment with access to state-of-the-art compute facilities
- Interesting and diverse medical data sets
