Project Manager with focus on event management (m/f/d)
The Tübingen AI Center is one of five competence centers for AI research in Germany funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). It is embedded in an ecosystem of regional and international initiatives, such as Cyber Valley and ELLIS (https://ellis.eu). This environment is now complemented by a specific BMBF initiative that aims to increase the visibility of AI research and AI applications in Europe. For this purpose, we are looking for a highly motivated, reliable and flexible person with organizational and project management skills to organize (large-scale) events on the topic of AI (100%, m/f/d, E 13 TV-L, 05/01/2022 - 05/31/2024):
Tasks and responsibilities
- Strategic conceptual design, implementation and evaluation of a large conference & festival event for AI researchers, startups, entrepreneurs, investors and decision makers in the con-text of the BMBF initiative
- Organization of networking events in virtual, presence and hybrid mode
- Support in building a network of startups, companies and researchers in the AI field
- Coordination of communication with partners
- Acquisition of high-level subject matter experts from the AI environment
- Recruitment and guidance of support staff within the framework of the fair
- Promoting events on social media
- Handling general administrative tasks
- Exchange with other initiatives such as Cyber Valley or ELLIS
Requirements
- Master's degree or doctorate in communication sciences, management, natural sciences and/or related fields
- Experience in event management, especially of large-scale events (>500 participants) is ideal
- Work experience gained at a start-up or technology company is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of content, methods and developments in AI research
- Knowledge of project management
- Knowledge in dealing with social media
- Analytical and conceptual skills with high quality standards
- Familiarity with structures and administrative processes at a university
- Efficient, positive and progressive communication skills
- Flexibility and the ability to constructively deal with (time) critical situations
- Willingness to travel and to attend and support international events
- Very good command of English
