Prof. Steffen Staab

Short Bio

Steffen Staab is a Professor of Analytic Computing at the University of Stuttgart, Managing Director of its Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and a Professor of Web and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. His research combines knowledge graphs, semantic technologies, machine learning, natural-language processing, simulation science, and human–computer interaction to make complex data and knowledge usable for intelligent systems. He is also a Cyber Valley Professor and a leading figure in the Stuttgart AI ecosystem, contributing to the SimTech Cluster of Excellence, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence, and the Interchange Forum for Reflecting on Intelligent Systems (IRIS). His work on knowledge-infused AI and secure, certifiable systems is highly relevant to Cyber Valley’s mission of connecting foundational AI research with engineering applications and societal reflection.
