Robert Bamler used to be a professor for machine learning at the University of Tübingen from 2020 until 2025, directing the group of Machine Learning and Data Science at the Cluster of Excellence "Machine Learning: New Perspectives for Science". In 2025, he left Tübingen to work as a Principal Researcher in the MPEG-AI team at Nokia TECH in Munich.
