Fabian Sinz is a Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Göttingen, where he leads research at the intersection of machine learning and life sciences, with a focus on NeuroAI, AI for neuroscience, and digital twins of biological systems. His group develops methods to learn data-driven “digital copies” of neural and other biological systems, using them to generate new scientific insights and predictions that can be tested experimentally. He previously served as an independent group leader at the University of Tübingen within the Cyber Valley initiative. Sinz’s Cyber Valley relevance is anchored in this period: his Tübingen-based group was part of the Cyber Valley research ecosystem, and he has continued to contribute to the region’s NeuroAI and computational neuroscience community through collaborations and joint projects.
