Peter Gehler is a machine learning and computer vision researcher with a background in both academia and industry. After studying computer science and mathematics, he earned his PhD in 2009 and held positions at institutions including ETH Zurich, TU Darmstadt, and the Max Planck Institutes in Tübingen and Saarbrücken. He later helped build Amazon’s research center in Tübingen and worked at Zalando on generative AI. Since 2025, he has been Professor for Machine Learning Engineering and Technology Transfer at the Tübingen AI Center, where he advances Cyber Valley’s mission of connecting cutting-edge AI research with practical innovation.
