Tian Qiu is a Professor at TU Dresden and Head of the Division of Smart Technologies for Tumor Therapy at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) Site Dresden. A biomedical engineer trained at Tsinghua University and EPFL, he develops wireless micro- and nanorobots for minimally invasive medicine, including targeted drug delivery, in-vivo sensing, and tumor therapy. Previously, he led the Cyber Valley research group Biomedical Microsystems at the University of Stuttgart. His work exemplifies Cyber Valley’s expansion into intelligent biomedical systems, linking robotics, microsystem engineering, materials science, and medical research.
