Short Bio
Carl Johann Simon-Gabriel is the co-founder and CEO of Mirelo AI, a Tübingen-based company developing high-quality generative AI for audio and music creation. Before founding Mirelo, he spent nearly a decade as an AI researcher in academia and industry, including at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, ETH Zurich, Meta FAIR, and AWS, working on robustness and fairness in large vision models, adversarial examples, generative adversarial networks, causal inference, and large-scale model training. He completed his PhD in machine learning at MPI-IS under Bernhard Schölkopf. Simon-Gabriel is relevant to Cyber Valley as a leading example of the region’s research-to-startup pathway: his work translates foundational AI research from Tübingen into a growing generative-AI venture focused on creative and audio applications.
