Nicolas Kubail Kalousdian is a Principal Autonomy Engineer at GreenSight, where he develops AI-enabled task and motion planning for mobile robots and UAVs. He holds a Dr.-Ing. in Artificial Intelligence for Autonomous Robotic Construction from the University of Stuttgart, completed at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) under Achim Menges and Marc Toussaint. His research focuses on distributed robotic construction, combining reinforcement learning, logic-geometric programming, and multi-robot coordination to enable autonomous assembly with natural, irregular materials such as bamboo. Together with Achim Menges, Kalousdian led the Cyber Valley Research Fund project "Task and Motion Planning for Collaborative Robotic Construction with Irregular Materials", which developed a robotic system for sustainable, low-carbon construction using bamboo and demonstrated how advanced AI and robotics can be applied to real-world, environmentally impactful problems.
