Led by Falk Lieder, the Neuronal Intelligence group developed intelligent systems with versatility comparable to mammalian brains in learning and performance. The group used large-scale neurophysiological and anatomical data to better understand the principles of neuronal intelligence and to bridge the gap between AI research and neuroscience. Their work was supported by funding from the Carl Zeiss Foundation.

Fabian Sinz has since moved on to the University of Göttingen where he works as a Professor for Machine Learning.
