Public Engagement Manager (f/m/d)

Your role as Public Engagement Manager is to continue the existing measures in line with the Public Engagement Principle and to develop and implement strategic Public Engagement for Cyber Valley.  

•  Get the public involved: Lead existing formats (like the AI Office hour or our Journalist-in-Residence program) and work with the team to develop new strategic formats that you implement. 
• Communicate what you do: Create content for the website and social media channels and attend relevant conferences to further promote Cyber Valley Public Engagement and our Principles as a best practice. 
• Networker: Maintain and expand our network of researchers, start-ups and institutions interested in dialogue and our target groups from society. 
• Strategic development of the field: Conceptualize and implement the further development of the Public Engagement Principles.
• You will work closely with the CCO and the positions Content Creation Manager, Event Management and Media Manager as well as external service providers and take responsibility for student assistants.

• Be open: Public Engagement is still a new field. Enjoy developing yourself, learning new things and being flexible to new requirements of your job profile. 
• Be a dialogue facilitator: You enjoy connecting with different people, listening to them and communicating in an active and friendly way. 
• Successfully completed studies (at least at Bachelor degree level, Master preferred, in social sciences, or a technical focus on technology assessment or technology ethics)
• Very good knowledge of and presentational skills in German and English (most of the work will be in German), as well as confident writing skills in both languages, previous editorial experience is welcome.
• Knowledge of and curiosity about AI, the ethics of AI and the current debated topics.
• Independent, reliable and conscientious work ethic.
• Proficient knowledge of office applications and the use of social media channels.
• Time flexibility for occasional evening Public Engagement events.
