Philipp Müller started the Embodied Social Interaction group on November 1, 2025. The group focuses on developing the next generation of embodied AI systems that can integrate seamlessly into human social life. Research includes analyzing and responding to complex, multimodal human behaviors, such as inferring user engagement, emotional expressions, and emotion regulation. The group combines insights from psychology with multimodal artificial intelligence and applies these methods in psychiatric contexts to support clinical assessment and evaluate patient–therapist interactions.
